Authentic Japanese Barbeque Tonkatsu Sauce
Tonkatsu Sauce, also known as Japanese BBQ sauce, is a perfect blend of sweet and tangy flavors. Perfect to serve with breaded pork cutlets, it is wonderfully versatile and can make an amazing addition to a variety of dishes.
Ingredients
- 1⁄4 Cup ketchup
- 2 tbls Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 tbls soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon mirin
- 1⁄2 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1⁄2 tablespoon grated ginger
- 1⁄4 tablespoon grated garlic

Begin by combining all of the ingredients mentioned above into a bowl. Mix everything well to ensure the sugar is completely dissolved.
Once the ingredients are fully combined, taste the sauce and make any necessary adjustments. If you prefer a sweeter sauce, feel free to add a bit more sugar.
Now that you are happy with the taste of your Tonkatsu sauce, simply pour it into a sauce bottle or an airtight jar.
Store your Tonkatsu sauce in the fridge, it should last for at least a month.
