Directions

30 min.
1. Step

For the oat cookie recipe, preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius. This is important as a constant temperature is crucial to ensure that the cookies bake evenly.

2. Step

In a bowl, mix together the rolled oats, flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. It is important to combine these dry ingredients first to ensure that the baking powder and salt are evenly distributed.

3. Step

In another bowl, beat the butter, eggs and vanilla extract together until creamy and well combined. Consistency is key here - butter that is too hard can make your cookies too firm, while butter that is too runny will make them too flat.

4. Step

Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix the dough as this can result in tough cookies.

5. Step

Using a spoon or a cookie dough press, form small balls from the dough and place them on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Make sure you leave enough space between the cookies to prevent them from sticking together.

6. Step

Bake the oat cookies in the preheated oven for around 15 to 20 minutes. The perfect baking time may vary, depending on how dark and crispy you like your oat cookies.

7. Step

Leave the oat cookies to cool completely on a wire rack before serving. This cooling phase is necessary so that the cookies retain their shape and become crispy.
