Directions
To bake the recipe for vegan apple pie first prepare the filling by peeling, coring and thinly slicing the apples. Put the apple slices in a bowl and mix them with cinnamon and sugar. Leave them aside so that the juice can come out.
Preheat the oven to 180°C and prepare a baking dish (I always use a 24 cm diameter tart pan) by rubbing it with a little oil.
For the dough: in a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Then add the oil and vegetable milk and knead everything well together. The dough should be soft but not sticky.
Press the dough into the prepared baking pan and form a rim. Then spread the apple filling evenly on the dough.
For the crumble: In a bowl, mix flour, sugar and cinnamon. Work in the solid coconut oil with your fingers until crumbles form. Spread the crumble evenly over the apple filling.
Bake the vegan apple pie in the preheated oven for about 45 minutes or until the crumble is nice and golden. Optionally sprinkle with powdered sugar.
