Easy Authentic Indian Prawn Curry
This is a classic Indian dish that is packed with flavor and easy to prepare. A mix of spices, coconut milk, and prawns are combined to create a delicious and creamy curry that can be served with rice or naan bread.
Ingredients
- 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 500 g shrimps
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 onion
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 thumb ginger, grated
- 2 cups tomatoes
- 1 teaspoon coriander
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon red chilli
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- salt to taste
- 2 cups coconut milk
- coriander, for garnish

Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them crackle for a few seconds.
Add onions, ginger, and garlic. Saute until onions are translucent.
Add tomatoes, salt, and all the spices - coriander, turmeric, red chilli, and garam masala. Mix well and cook for a few minutes until tomatoes become soft and mushy.
Add prawns and stir well to coat them with the masala. Let them cook for 2-3 minutes on medium heat.
Pour in coconut milk and stir everything together. Let it simmer for 5-7 minutes until the prawns are cooked and the sauce thickens slightly.
Turn off the heat and garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serve hot with rice or naan bread.
