Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8-inch round cake.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
In a separate bowl, mix milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
Gradually pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
Divide the batter equally among the prepared cake pans. Smooth the tops with a spatula.
Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Remove the pans from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes. Then, transfer the cakes to a wire rack to cool completely.
Prepare the glaze by combining 2 cups powdered sugar, 1/2 cup milk, and 1 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth and set aside.
Once the cakes are completely cooled, trim the tops to create an even surface.
Place one cake layer on the serving plate. Spread a layer of whipped cream and assorted fruit on top.
Repeat the process with the remaining cake layers, finishing with a thin layer of whipped cream and fruit on top.
Slowly pour the glaze over the cake, allowing it to drizzle down the sides.
Refrigerate the cake for at least 1 hour before serving.
