Directions
Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Cover your roasting pan with foil for easier cleanup. My own practical tip— foil makes your life so much easier.
Place the ham cut side down in the roasting pan. Cover the ham with foil and bake for about 2 hours or until heated through. Remember, it's already cooked; we're just warming it up.
Meanwhile, to prepare the glaze, combine in a saucepan honey, brown sugar, apple cider, Dijon mustard, ground cloves, and ground cinnamon. Note from my kitchen—stick to real honey and avoid the synthetic ones; the flavor difference is notable.
Stir over medium heat until the brown sugar is thoroughly dissolved. Let this mixture simmer for another 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
After 2 hours, remove ham from the oven and increase the temperature to 425°F (220°C). Brush 1/3 of the glaze over the ham, ensuring it gets into the slices.
Bake the ham, uncovered this time, for 15 minutes. Then remove the ham from the oven again and brush another 1/3 of the glaze over it. Return to the oven for another 15 minutes. The high temperature will caramelize the glaze, enhancing its taste - my little secret to a perfect honey glazed ham.
Now, remove the ham from the oven, and for the last time, brush over the remaining glaze. Let it stand for 15 minutes before serving. This rest time helps the glaze penetrate more and sets the meat juices running.
Trust me, follow these steps and you'll have a show-stopping, flavor-packed Honey Glazed Ham that you’ll be proud to serve!
