How to Make Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream

Ingredients
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 2 cups whole milk
- 3⁄4 Cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- A pinch of salt

Directions
In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream and milk over medium-low heat. Stir the mixture gently until it is warm.
Add the sugar and salt to the warmed milk mixture and stir until both are completely dissolved.
Once the sugar is dissolved, remove the mixture from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
Let the mixture cool completely. You can speed up the cooling process by placing the saucepan in an ice bath and stirring.
Once the mixture is completely cool, pour it into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This usually takes about 20-25 minutes to get the perfect consistency.
After churning, transfer the ice cream to a lidded container. Smooth the top and put the lid on. Freeze the ice cream for at least 2 hours, or until it gets hard.
