Perfect Soft Homemade Chocolate Chip Biscuits

Ingredients
- 225 gms of self-rising flour
- 100 gms of unsweetened cocoa powder
- 200 gms of caster sugar
- 200 gms of unsalted butter, at room temperature
- 1 large Egg
- 1 teaspoon of Vanilla Extract
- 1⁄2 teaspoon of salt
- 100 gms of chocolate chips

Directions
Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
In a medium mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour, cocoa powder, and salt. Set aside.
In a separate large bowl, cream the butter and sugar together until it becomes light and fluffy. This usually takes about 3-5 minutes.
Beat in the egg and vanilla extract into the creamed butter and sugar until well combined.
Gradually mix in the dry ingredients from step 2 to the wet ingredients. Ensure to mix well.
Add the chocolate chips into the dough and stir until they are evenly distributed.
Using a spoon or small scoop, drop the dough onto your prepared baking tray. Remember to leave about 2 inches between each biscuit as they will spread while baking.
Bake in the preheated oven for 15 minutes, or until the edges are firm but the center remains soft.
Allow the biscuits to cool on the tray for about 5 minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely.
