Pizza Sauce Homemade Basic Recipe
This delicious homemade pizza sauce is an absolute favorite in my family. Not only is the recipe quick and easy to prepare, but it's also versatile enough to go with any type of pizza - from traditional Italian pizzas to modern creations.
Ingredients
- 800 gr Peeled tomatoes can
- 2 chopped cloves of garlic
- 1 small onion, diced
- 1 Teaspoon sugar
- salt and pepper to taste
- 2 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 bunch Fresh basil, finely chopped
- 1 Teaspoon dried oregano

Directions
To make your own pizza sauce, heat the olive oil in a large pot over medium heat. Here it is recommended to use a larger pot to let the tomatoes simmer optimally.
Add the diced onion and cook until translucent, which usually takes about 5 minutes.
Add the chopped garlic and simmer for a minute. Be careful not to burn it, as this may affect the flavor of the sauce.
Now add the peeled tomatoes (with juice), sugar, basil and oregano. Let the ingredients come to a boil and then reduce the heat to let the sauce simmer for about 30 minutes. Having done this procedure many times, I know that mixing time is critical to properly combine the flavors.
Finally, season the pizza sauce with salt and pepper.
Your pizza sauce is now ready to use. It can be used immediately or stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
