Chicken soup
Chicken soup is an integral part of Sunday lunch at our house. It is a traditional Czech recipe that I learned from my grandmother.
Ingredients
- 1 pc chicken meat
- 3 pcs carrots
- 2 pcs Parsley
- 1 pcs celery
- 1 pcs onion
- 3 Cloves garlic
- 1 Spoon Whole peppercorns
- 2 pcs Bay leaves
- salt
- 100 g Noodles

Directions
Wash the chicken and place in a large pot. Cover with water so that the chicken is submerged. Bring to the boil and simmer over low heat until the meat begins to separate from the bones. This is a necessary step to ensure that the soup will have the full flavor of the chicken.
Clean and dice the carrots, parsley, celery and onion. Peel the garlic. When the chicken is done, remove it from the pot and add the prepared vegetables, whole garlic, pepper and bay leaves to the stock. Cook on low heat for about 1 hour.
In the meantime, let the chicken cool and then clean it of skin and bones. Cut the meat into small pieces. Discard the bones and skin.
After the vegetables have cooked, add the chicken and noodles to the pot. Season the soup with salt to taste and let it cook for another 15 minutes until the noodles are soft.
And at the end, just serve the soup. This soup is perfect as a stand-alone dish or as an appetizer before the main course.
