Directions
To bake the peanut butter cookies, start by preparing the oven. This should be preheated to 180 °C. I always recommend lining the baking tray with baking paper, as this makes it much easier to clean afterwards.
In a bowl, mix the butter with the sugar until creamy. This works particularly well if the butter is at room temperature, as this makes it easier to mix.
In the next step, add the egg and mix everything thoroughly. Now would be the perfect time to add the peanut butter.
In a separate bowl, mix together the flour, baking powder and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the peanut butter mixture and stir in well.
Now shape the dough into small balls, place them on the baking tray and press them slightly flat. Here's a little tip: leave enough space between the cookies as they will spread out when baking.
Bake the peanut butter cookies for about 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. After baking, leave the cookies to cool on the baking tray for about 5-10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
I promise you, these cookies are so good they won't last long. Enjoy the taste of homemade peanut butter cookies!
