Crispy Homemade Fried Pork Egg Rolls
This recipe will guide you on how to make delicious and crispy egg rolls. These are the perfect appetizer to serve at any gathering, and they can be prepared ahead of time and frozen to save time. These egg rolls are filled with a mouth-watering combination of ground pork, cabbage, mushrooms, and garlic, all wrapped up and fried to a golden perfection.
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground pork
- 1 teaspoon ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 quart peanut or vegetable oil for frying
- 2 tbls all-purpose flour
- 2 tbls water
- 2 cups shredded cabbage
- 2 ounces shredded carrots
- 8 egg roll wrappers
- 2 tbls Sesame seeds (optional)

Directions
Season the pork with ginger and garlic powder and mix thoroughly. Heat the mixture in a medium skillet, stirring frequently until the pork is fully cooked.
In another large skillet heat the oil to about 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
While the oil is heating, combine flour and water in a bowl until they form a paste.
Lay out one egg roll skin with a corner pointed towards you. Place about a 1/4 to 1/3 cup of the pork mixture on the egg roll paper and fold the corner up over the mixture.
Fold left and right corners toward the center and continue to roll. Brush a bit of the flour paste on the final corner to help seal the egg roll.
Place egg rolls into the heated oil and fry, turning occasionally, until golden brown. Remove from oil and drain on paper towels or rack.
Optional: you can also sprinkle some sesame seeds for an additional touch.
