Delicious Apple Pie with Cracked Dough
As a passionate lover of apple pies, I must say that this recipe for Apple Pie with shortcrust pastry is one of my favorites. The dough is crisp and soft and the apples take on a spectacular flavor with the cinnamon.
Ingredients
For the shortcrust pastry
- 250 g of flour
- 125 g Of cold butter
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- A pinch of salt
For the filling
- 4 Large apples
- 100 g sugar
- 2 cdas Cinnamon powder
- 2 cdas of lemon juice

Start by preparing the shortcrust pastry. Mix the flour with the sugar and salt in a bowl. Incorporate the cold butter in cubes and start mixing with your hands until you get a sandy texture. This will allow your dough to be crunchy.
Add the egg and knead into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
While the dough is resting, proceed to prepare the filling. Peel the apples, cut them into thin slices and sprinkle them with lemon juice to prevent them from oxidizing.
Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
Roll out the dough with a rolling pin on a floured surface and place it in a tart pan. Prick it with a fork to prevent it from puffing up during baking. This will improve the final texture of your tart.
Distribute the apples evenly over the dough and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. I assure you that this intensifies the flavor of the apples.
Bake for 35 minutes or until the cake is golden brown.
Let cool before slicing. I usually serve this apple pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. It is the perfect complement.
