Hearty goulash stew recipe

Goulash stew is a dish that we like to serve in our family. I have prepared it countless times and it is a dish that is especially good on cold winter days. Satisfying beef is cooked with vegetables and tomatoes to make a hearty soup. Even if the preparation takes longer the result convinces with taste and texture.

Directions

120 min.
1. Step

To cook the goulash stew you need to first prepare the meat. Here it is important to cut the meat into equal cubes so that it cooks evenly. Then season the beef goulash with salt and pepper.

2. Step

Heat the pot and add the oil. When the oil is hot, add the meat and sear it all around. It develops a nice crust, which later gives the goulash its special flavor.

3. Step

Now peel and finely chop the onions and garlic. Wash and clean the carrots and peppers and cut into cubes. Peel the potatoes and dice them as well.

4. Step

Add the vegetables to the meat and stir-fry for 5 minutes.

5. Step

Next, add the paprika powder and fry briefly. It is important not to roast the paprika too long, otherwise it can become bitter.

6. Step

Now add the chopped tomatoes and the meat broth. Stir everything well and then let the stew simmer on low heat for about 2 hours. Stir in between from time to time.

7. Step

Finally, season the goulash stew again to taste and add salt and pepper if necessary. Then remove the pot from the heat and let the stew rest for 5 minutes.

8. Step

I like to serve the goulash stew with fresh bread. But it also tastes very good with rice or pasta. Bon appetite!

9. Step

This recipe is just right for cozy winter evenings. It's also ideal if you have a lot of guests or simply need a dish that's easy to prepare. And best of all, the goulash stew tastes even better the next day!
