Ingredients
Cake
- 2 egg
- 250 g sugar
- 120 ml sunflower oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla essence
- 300 g self-rising flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 15 g unsweetened cocoa powder
- 250 ml milk
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1⁄2 tablespoon Red food colouring paste
Decorating cream
- 200 g icing sugar
- 100 g butter
- 150 g cream cheese

Directions
Add the spoonful of lemon juice to the milk and set aside.
Sieve the flour, cocoa, and baking soda and set aside.
In a bowl add the eggs and sugar. Whisk well until the mixture changes colour to white.
Add half of the dry ingredients and half of the reserved curdled milk. Whisk until smooth. Combine the two preparations and whisk until the ingredients are combined.
Add the food colouring and vanilla, and mix well.
Spread on a baking tray covered with baking paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180° for 20′ approx. Remove from the oven and leave to cool before cutting.
In a bowl, mix the butter with the sugar. Then add the cheese and mix well.
Put the mixture in a piping bag to decorate the "Red Velvet" cake.
Cut the layers of the cake.
Serve and enjoy the best red velvet cake you have ever tasted.
