How to cook Sauteed Shiitake Mushrooms

- 8 ounces shiitake mushrooms
- 2 tbls olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional toppings: sesame seeds, green onions

Clean the shiitake mushrooms by wiping them with a damp cloth. Remove the stems and slice the caps into pieces.
Heat the olive in a large skillet. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing for about 1 minute until fragrant.
Add the sliced mushrooms to the skillet and stir-fry for 4 minutes, until they start to soften and release their moisture.
Drizzle the soy sauce and sesame oil over the mushrooms, stirring well to evenly coat them. Continue cooking for another 3 minutes until mushrooms are caramelized.
Season with salt and pepper to taste. Give mushrooms a final toss to combine all flavors.
