How to make Authentic Indian Tandoori Chicken
This Tandoori Chicken is an incredibly flavorful and juicy dish that blends spices and aromatics from Indian cuisine. It is marinated in yogurt and a mix of tandoori masala, which gives it its signature flavor, and then grilled or baked to perfection. The chicken becomes beautifully charred on the outside and fork-tender and juicy on the inside.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 Cup of plain Greek yogurt
- 3 tbls of tandoori masala
- 2 tbls of lemon juice
- 2 tbls of vegetable oil
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon of freshly grated ginger
- salt to taste
- Fresh Coriander and lemon wedges for garnish (optional)

In a medium-sized bowl, combine the Greek yogurt, tandoori masala, lemon juice, vegetable oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, and salt. Mix them well into a marinade.
Add the chicken breasts in the marinade and ensure that each piece is well-coated. Cover the bowl and let the chicken marinate for at least 2 hours or ideally overnight in the refrigerator.
Preheat your grill or oven to high heat. If using a grill, oil the grates lightly. If using an oven, line a baking tray with foil and place a wire rack over it.
Cook the chicken on the preheated grill or in the oven for about 20 minutes, or until the juices run clear, and the chicken is charred on the outside and fully cooked on the inside. If using an oven, turn on the broiler for the last 2-3 minutes to get some nice char.
Let the chicken rest for a few minutes. Serve the Tandoori Chicken with the optional fresh coriander and lemon wedges on the side and enjoy!
