How to make Homemade Basic Tandoori Paste

Ingredients
- 6 cloves fresh garlic
- 1 stalk Lemongrass (Optional)
- 2 slices Fresh Ginger (About two inches)
- 2 tbls paprika powder
- 2 tbls ground cumin
- 2 tbls ground coriander
- 1 tablespoon ground turmeric
- 1 tablespoon Cayenne Pepper (Adjust per heat preference)
- 1 tablespoon garam masala
- 2 tbls lemon juice
- 2 tbls vegetable oil
- salt to taste

Directions
Prep your ingredients: Peel the garlic cloves, slice the fresh ginger, and trim the lemongrass stalk.
Blend all ingredients in a mixer or food processor until they form a smooth paste. If the mixture is too dry, add either a bit more oil or a little bit of water.
Season with salt to your preference, then blend again briefly to incorporate it.
Transfer the paste into a clean jar or another storage container. If not using right away, add a thin layer of oil on top to preserve it. Store the paste in the refrigerator for up to a week or in the freezer for up to 3 months.
