Directions
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). It's crucial to preheat your oven when baking for an even bake.
To prepare the crust, combine flour, sugar, and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Then, add in the cubed butter. Here, using your hands, you need to blend the butter into the flour mixture until it forms a crumbly consistency.
Press this crust mixture evenly into the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking pan. As a tip, you can use the bottom of a flat cup or glass to help press the crust evenly and firmly.
Bake the crust in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes, until lightly golden.
While the crust is baking, prepare the pecan filling. Combine the brown sugar, corn syrup, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter in another medium-sized bowl. Remember to cool down the melted butter before mixing, to avoid scrambling your eggs.
Stir in the chopped pecans into this mixture.
Pour the pecan filling evenly over the baked crust in the pan. Try to distribute the pecans evenly so every slice gets an ample amount.
Place the pan back into the oven and bake for about 3035 minutes, or until the filling has set.
Allow the pecan pie to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before cutting and serving.
