Directions
To make the apple pie with pudding recipe we start with the dough. Mix flour, sugar, butter, one egg and a pinch of salt to make a smooth dough. Make sure that the butter is not too hard, otherwise the dough will be crumbly. Then let it rest in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes.
Meanwhile, peel the apples and cut them into thin slices. Here I recommend to use somewhat tart apples, as they harmonize well with the sweet pudding.
Next, we prepare the custard-quark filling. To do this, cook the custard according to package directions and let it cool a bit. Now mix the quark, eggs and sugar in a bowl before adding the cooled pudding.
Finally, fold the sliced apples into the custard mixture and spread everything evenly over the dough.
Bake the cake at 180 degrees (top/bottom heat) for about 55-60 minutes. Depending on the oven, the baking time may vary, so pay attention to the golden brown surface of the cake as a guide.
Let the apple pie with custard and curd cool completely before serving. Add a dollop of cream - and you have the perfect piece of apple pie!
