Vietnamese Vegetable Pork Fried Rice Com Chien
Vietnamese fried rice, or 'Com Chien', is a hearty and flavorsome dish that combines wok-seared rice, savory vegetables, succulent shrimp and char siu pork, all tossed in a delightful mix of traditional Southeast Asian spices. This easy-to-cook meal can be served either as a main dish or as a side dish.
Ingredients
- 4 cups of cooked jasmine rice
- 1⁄2 Cup of char siu pork, diced
- 1⁄2 Cup of shrimps, peeled and deveined
- 1 Cup of mixed vegetables (carrots, peas corn)
- 2 eggs beaten
- 2 cloves of garlic, chopped
- 2 tbls of soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce
- 1⁄2 teaspoon of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil
- 1 spring onion, chopped
- salt and pepper to taste

Directions
Heat up the vegetable oil in a wok or a large frying pan over medium heat.
Add the chopped garlic and stir-fry until it turns golden brown.
Add the char siu pork and shrimps into the wok. Stir-fry until the shrimp becomes opaque.
Introduce the mixed vegetables, stir well and cook for 2 minutes.
Push everything to one side of the wok and pour the beaten eggs in the other side. Scramble the eggs until solid.
Add in the cooked rice and stir everything together.
Season with soy sauce, oyster sauce, sugar, and salt and pepper to taste.
Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes until everything is well combined and the rice is slightly crispy.
Garnish with the chopped spring onion and serve immediately.
