Directions
The first step should be to get your Tim Tams ready. But here's a secret – don't just simply break them apart. For a more delicate and even crumb, pulse the Tim Tams in a food processor until they're fine crumbs. Believe me, it's worth the extra time and effort!
Now, for the cream cheese. Make sure that it's at room temperature. If not, you might end up with lumpy Tim Tam balls, and we don't want that. Combine the cream cheese with the Tim Tam crumbs in a large bowl until well mixed. This gives your balls a creamy and tangy flavor that's pivotal to the overall taste.
Roll the mixture into small balls using your hands and place them on a tray lined with baking paper. Remember, consistency is the key. Try to keep each ball the same size for even chilling and ultimate enjoyment.
Once you're done, place the tray in the fridge to chill for a minimum of 30 minutes. Patience is crucial at this point and ensures a good set.
Meanwhile, melt your white chocolate in a microwave or using a double boiler. Sure it’s easier in a microwave, but double boiling helps avoid burning the chocolate, and that's what I always prefer.
Take the balls out of the fridge and dip each one into the melted chocolate, making sure they're completely covered. Place them back on the tray. This layer of chocolate only adds to the rich flavor of the Tim Tam balls.
At this point, if you're using sprinkles or coconut flakes for decoration, sprinkle them on top while the chocolate is still wet. It’s a creative touch that kids absolutely love.
Allow the Tim Tam balls to set completely in the fridge, again, for at least 30 minutes.
