Cooking applesauce in the oven
This apple sauce is prepared in the oven. If you have a surplus of apples at home and want to use them up, you can prepare apple sauce with aromatic ingredients in an unconventional way - in the oven.
Ingredients
- 3 kg apple
- 180 g sugar
- 1 lemon
- 1 Teaspoon cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 150 degrees Celsius.
Wash and peel the apples, remove the core and cut into cubes. Place the diced apples with the lemon juice in a large casserole dish and mix well.
Bake the apple mixture in the oven for about 1½ hours until the apples are soft and have released their juices.
Once the apples have cooled, puree them.
My tip: I personally pass the apples through a sieve so that the puree does not contain any peel or cores.
Add the sugar and cinnamon. Pour the finished apple sauce into sterilized preserving jars and seal well.
