Crispy Rainbow Beef & Vegetables Stir-Fry

  • 500 gms of beef sirloin, thinly sliced Added to
  • 1 medium red bell pepper, cut into thin strips Added to
  • 1 medium yellow bell pepper, cut into thin strips Added to
  • 1 medium orange bell pepper, cut into thin strips Added to
  • 2 medium carrots, cut into thin strips Added to
  • 2 spring onions, cut into two inch lengths Added to
  • 1 medium onion, thinly sliced Added to
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced Added to
  • 2 tbls vegetable oil Added to
  • salt and pepper to taste Added to

For the sauce:

  • 2 tbls soy sauce Added to
  • 2 tbls oyster sauce Added to
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch, dissolved in a little water Added to
  • 1 teaspoon sugar Added to
  • A pinch of red pepper flakes (optional) Added to

1. Step

Season the beef with salt and pepper. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.

2. Step

Prepare the sauce by combining soy sauce, oyster sauce, dissolved cornstarch, sugar, and red pepper flakes. Mix well and set aside.

3. Step

Heat in a pan over medium heat. Add garlic and onion, sauté until fragrant and slightly brown.

4. Step

Add the beef and stir-fry until it changes color. Remove from the pan and set aside.

5. Step

In the same pan, add all the bell peppers and carrots. Stir-fry until vegetables are tender yet crisp.

6. Step

Return the beef to the pan, add the sauce and stir well to combine. Cook for a few more minutes until the sauce thickens.

7. Step

Add the spring onions last, stir well to incorporate.

8. Step

Serve hot with a side of steamed rice or noodles, and enjoy your Rainbow Beef.
