Homemade Indian Creamy Chicken Curry
This chicken curry recipe is a delicious and flavorful dish that is perfect for a hearty meal. With tender chicken pieces cooked in a rich and aromatic curry sauce, this dish is bursting with spices and flavors. The creamy texture of the curry sauce combined with the succulent chicken makes it an absolute crowd-pleaser.
Ingredients
- 500 gms chicken, bone and skinless cut into pieces
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 a piece ginger, grated
- 2 tomatoes, diced
- 2 tbls vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Chilli Powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1⁄2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄2 Cup plain yogurt
- Fresh coriander leaves, (for garnish)

Directions
Heat oil in a skillet or pot over medium heat.
Add the cumin seeds and sizzle for a few seconds until fragrant.
Add the chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, and sauté for a minute.
Add the diced tomatoes and cook until they soften and release juices.
In a bowl, whisk together the yogurt, turmeric powder, chilli powder, garam masala, coriander, and salt until well combined. Pour the mixture into the skillet with the onions and tomatoes.
Stir well and cook for a few minutes until aromatic.
Add the chicken pieces to the skillet and mix them with the sauce.
Turn the heat to low, cover the skillet, and let the chicken cook until cooked through and tender.
Once the chicken is cooked, remove the skillet from heat and let it rest for a few minutes.
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.
