How to make Old-Fashioned Curried Sausage
Curried Sausage is a flavorful comforting dish that combines juicy sausages with a rich aromatic sauce. Serve it over a bed of steamed rice or with crusty bread for a dinner option.
Ingredients
- 1 lb sausages
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 bell pepper, sliced
- 1 tablespoon curry powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 can diced tomatoes
- 1 Cup chicken or vegetable broth
- 1⁄2 Cup coconut milk
- Cilantro for garnish

In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
Add the sausages and cook until browned on all sides. Remove the sausages from the skillet and set aside.
In the same skillet, add the onion, minced garlic, and sliced bell pepper. Sauté until they are softened.
Stir in the curry powder, turmeric, cumin, and paprika. Cook for an additional minute to release the flavors.
Add the diced tomatoes with their juice to the skillet, followed by the chicken or vegetable broth. Stir well to combine all the ingredients.
Add the sausage to the skillet and bring the mixture to a simmer. Cover the skillet and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until the sausages are fully cooked and the flavors have mixed together.
Stir in the coconut milk, and season with salt and pepper to taste Simmer an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to blend.
Remove from heat and serve curried sausage over steamed rice or with crusty bread.
Garnish with fresh cilantro if desired before serving.
