Onion and Garlic Syrup

- 1 glass finely chopped onion
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 glass sugar
- 1⁄2 glasses water

1. Step
Sweat the onion and garlic over low heat until they are soft. Do not let them burn.
2. Step
Add sugar and cook until the sugar dissolves.
3. Step
Add water, reduce heat and cook for about 20 minutes, until the liquid has the consistency of syrup.
4. Step
When the syrup is ready, strain it through a fine sieve or coffee filter to remove the onion and garlic.
5. Step
Store the syrup in the refrigerator and consume a teaspoon for a cold or cough.
