Directions
First prepare the oranges. Wash the oranges, remove the peel and then cut them into small pieces. It is important to keep the juice that escapes when slicing. This juice will give the sauce an extra orange flavour.
Then slowly dissolve the sugar into the water in the saucepan to create a syrup. When the sugar has completely dissolved, add the orange pieces to the mixture. Cook the sauce over medium heat for about 15 minutes, or until it is thick enough.
When the sauce is ready (it may still seem a little runny, but it will thicken as it cools), add the butter and a little salt. The butter will give the sauce a creamy texture, and the salt will balance the sweetness of the sauce perfectly. And that's it! Your sauce is ready to serve with your favorite meat or steak fish.
