Quick Crunchy Tiger Breakfast Cheese Toast
Tiger Toast is a fun, simple, and quick breakfast or snack idea that I’ve prepared countless times for my cute little nieces and nephews. It's a wonderful recipe because it's engaging for kids — who naturally love the quirky name — and appeals to parents due to the sustenance it provides. I've made variations of this recipe while babysitting and during family get-togethers, and it's always been appreciated.
Ingredients
- 4 slices of bread
- 4 tbls of butter
- 1 Cup grated cheese (cheddar works best)
- 1⁄4 teaspoon of turmeric
- 1⁄4 teaspoon of paprika

Directions
Start by preheating your oven to 180°C (350°F). From my experience, this temperature works perfectly without the risk of over-cooking the toast.
In a bowl, mix the cheese, turmeric, and paprika. Blend them until the mixture resembles the bold stripes of a tiger. Don't worry if it’s not perfectly uniform. The fun is in the random patterns.
Toast the bread lightly. Just ensure it's not too crispy as it will toast further in the oven.
Once the toast is ready, spread a generous layer of butter on each slice. Based on my trials, the butter helps in adhering the cheese mixture and enhances the flavor.
Now, spoon this tiger-striped cheese mixture onto the buttered toasts. Encourage kids to participate in this stage—it's hands-on and sparks creativity.
Place the bread slices on a baking sheet and put into the preheated oven. Bake for 5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling.
Once done, let them cool a bit and serve warm.
